Madrona Road Challenge

Madrona Road Challenge

Thank you so much for sharing!

A few other girls and I started up the Oahu Modern Quilt Guild a few months back.  We have a meeting coming up this Saturday if anyone is local!  We decided to participate in The Modern Quilt Guild’s Madrona Road Challenge and that our group would make pillows.  We were provided a small selection of the Madrona Road fabric collection by Violet Craft for Michael Miller Fabrics.  This was such a fun project!  Wanna see what I made??

I used the Anna Maria Horner feather pattern.  I wanted to try it out for maybe a future quilt down the line.  I figured this would be perfect testing ground.  You can find the pattern for free here.

I really liked this pattern.  I made several mistakes, but I think I have the hang of it now for any future projects.  The challenge says you can only add a solid, so I added this ivory Essex linen blend so the feathers would pop.  I quilted the top using batting and some muslin for the inside of the pillow.
