My friend Bridgette from church organized a sewing night to help out Project HOPE, a handmade dress drive for orphan girls in Haiti. I couldn’t make it to the sewing night, but told her I would make a dress at home to contribute. We used the free Oliver + S Popover Sundress Pattern. It was my first dress attempt, so I was a little nervous, but the pattern seemed pretty simple. I made one for my baby A too!
The pink one is the donation dress, I used bright pink Kona and I was surprised at how much yardage it takes to make clothes! Pink dress is size 8 and navy is size 3t.
My little model. I made this a bit big for her so she can wear it for awhile, especially with the adjustable straps! She is pointing to her new discovery, the airplane!
Mom it’s so squinty out here!
For the pink dress I used a London Calling Floral Robert Kaufman print from my stash and Kona Bright Pink that I got at fabric.com.
The navy dress is fabric that I bought from Whimsy Quilts and Fabrics, Riley Blake small dots and solid navy.
