Do any of you have vintage sewing machines? I am on the hunt. I am obsessed. I have been looking for a budget friendly option to get a machine with a larger “arm space” in order to quilt my own quilts at home. So I started to do some research and it seems as though some vintage Singer’s are a really good option for this. They are straight stitch workhorse machines and some have the ability to drop the feed dogs to make free motion possible. I want one. The 15-91 and the 202-2 are the ones I’m looking at… well stalking on ebay and craigslist is more like it. Here is what they look like. Do you have a vintage machine?
The 201, slightly larger throat space than the 15-91 and about 5 lbs heavier.
The 15-91. According to some online research, the bobbin system is a little better for quilting on this machine.
I’ll let you know what my hunt produces!
