Finished Quilt: Eli Tower Quilt

Finished Quilt: Eli Tower Quilt

Thank you so much for sharing!

Remember this quilt top from way back when?  Like, back to October?!  Well, I have finally finished my 3 year old little boy’s quilt.  His baby sister got one before he did, whoops!  Here is a photo of the top.  He was born September 11 and it’s difficult to ignore the significance of that date. So I created a “tower” quilt, but with a twist.
AND… here is the completed quilt!  The Eli Tower Quilt.  I made this completely from my stash, designed it myself and used fabric he would recognize which he thinks is super fun.  This would look awesome with a designer jelly roll and some Kona Snow… 😉

Details:
43×46
Kona Medium Grey
Bound in Kona… I think Royal.
Random fabrics from my stash, denim, sheets and flannel.
Straight line quilted with a walking foot on my Viking.

Batting is Warm and Natural.

Here is is pointing out his favorite part.

Here is the back.  This was a twin top sheet.

You can see there in the middle some of the imperfection in the straight line quilting until I came up with a better strategy.

Another view.

Here was the original plan… How do you think my vision turned out?

I think that Flying Geese quilt looks so gorgeous, and I wish I could make sotenhimg like that. But the very thought of it made me hyperventilate a bit. And my hair hurt. I think the block you've made is fine - love the colours.Hope you find your bits and pieces - I hate it when that happens. (Have you ever read 'A Place Called Here' by Cecilia Ahern? In it, the character visits the place called 'Here' which is where all the lost things from our world go.x

Very nice! Your little guy will enjoy this for years to come. I love that you made it all from your stash and fabric he already recognizes!

That is such a great design for a boy! Or a girl. Ok, I just like the pattern. :)

(Sorry...I had just commented but it was on the wrong account. I just started trying to separate my personal and quilting blogs a bit more.)

I think it looks great. Your pattern is wonderful and I like the colors - the blue binding looks perfect with the gray fabric.

Great quilt! It looks just like your drawn design - well done!
