Hi Everyone! Remember a few weeks ago when I sent out my newsletter about goals? Well, I have really thinking a lot about goals and even made this little project over on my YouTube Channel! A DIY Goal Calendar! I wanted to create a simple and budget friendly project to write out a little goal calendar each month. I wanted it to be beautiful and practical.
So check out the video and let me know what you think?!
After watching that video, you might not know how frustrating that day actually was! Thankfully, so far in my career surrounded by lots of technology, I haven’t had any major disasters. No major loss of footage, or weird bad luck. Until last Thursday lol.
My video had been uploaded for awhile and it was scheduled to go live at 9am that morning, there were other people involved…we had been planning it for a long time and so the video goes live and I check the comments and people are saying there is an audio problem. I was watching on my desktop which was fine. So I check it on my phone… and the sound is a completely garbled mess! Can’t hear me talking at all… music sounds strange… it was a disaster. So I take it down right away and try to figure out the problem. (The original sound quality was not very good, and my husband had to use some of his magic editing skills to make it acceptable). After hours of trying to figure out this weird glitch and having nothing work, I decide to reshoot parts of the video, re-edit and put up a new version, by dinner time! After all, people were counting on me… the entire day I was stressing out that my participation in this fun little collaboration was going to affect the success of it.
We think what happened was the original sound had a weird frequency or something (since it wasn’t very good quality) that was making the mobile version unable to recognize the sound… strange that the desktop version sounded fine. Anyway, I guess the moral of the story that I had to learn the hard way was to always check my videos on mobile before they go live and attempt to get the best sound quality possible every single time moving forward.
Have you had any frustrating days like this lately? I was thankful I could rearrange my day to take care of this issue and that I was able to get it figured out and still participate in the collaboration. Plus, at the end of the day – it was a technology glitch. Frustrating? Yes! But everyone is safe, the video still looks good and conveys the message I wanted… just about 9 hours after it was planned! Oh well!
I hope you all have a fantastic week with no frustrating days!
