I recently finished a commissioned quilt. Now that it has been given to the recipient, I can share the process with you! My client aka my Aunt Sue asked me to make this quilt for her first grandson who will be born in a few weeks. We started working on this back in October. She had a few ideas so we went from there.
She wanted the quilt to be primary colors and have the words “grandma” and “grandpa” incorporated somehow.
I sketched out some ideas… Which one do you think she liked best?

My Aunt liked… choice No. 1! I liked the bowtie block the best, so I was glad she liked that one. We modified it slightly from this sketch, so stay tuned to see how it turned out! Tomorrow I’ll let you in on how the fabric selection went.
