Quilt Process Step 2: Fabric Selection

Thank you so much for sharing!

The fabric selection and quilt design go hand in hand.  Some designs won’t work with certain fabric choices so the fabric selection and design really work together rather than being one before the other.

My client said she wanted primary colors and baby is going to be a boy, so I found some options for incorporating those factors, but also some other fabric lines for variety.

We liked several of these and it was a hard choice because they are all so cute, but which one do you think we went with?

This is the sketch for the quilt.  Which fabric would you have chosen for this quilt?

I think I would go with Critter Community because of the high contrast. Raised two boys - they would both have loved this!

I'd go with the "Fox Trails". There are plenty of smaller prints for the bowties, and some nice bigger prints for the plain squares.

Wow, I had no idea the other selections were so adorable too! How do you decide when everything is so cute! (I suppose it helps to know your client and the recipient!)
