My friend and I were talking about practical baby gear for the hot summer months here in Hawaii. She had a friend receive a cotton crocheted blanket at a baby shower and thought that was a great idea. Cotton is much more practical than polyester, flannel or other types of baby blankets. I thought, I have a huge skein (400g/14oz) of Bernat cotton yarn in a coral color, I should make one! Baby girl won’t need much by way of blankets, but for those super air-conditioned stores or breezy evenings, I think this will come in handy – and I used up some of my yarn stash, even better!

This is one of my favorite things you have made. You can never have to many blankets.
