How to Crochet a Sunflower or Daisy Granny Square
Melanie’s Makers,
This is Robert. I wanted to check in with you all… Hello!
In this month’s blog post, I’d like to share two of Melanie’s most popular videos from her archives: Sunflower Granny Square Crochet Tutorial and Daisy Crochet Granny Square Tutorial!
Beginner-Friendly Crochet Project
Melanie loved these projects and we still cozy up on the couch while watching our favorite fall movies with the sunflower pillow she made. If you need a great fall project this is for you! Here is a handy page with all of Melanie’s blog posts featuring granny square crochet tutorials, each with supplies and details.
Nostaligia Made Cuter with Crochet
I remember Melanie telling me how she was inspired to do a crochet project like this because it reminded her of the style of crochet our grandmothers made when we were children.
But in classic Melanie style, she always had a new, fresh and modern way to create handmade projects that were all her own.
Crochet Sunflower Granny Square
Melanie loved sunflowers and daisies. The cheerful flowers reflected the beauty that she shined every day.
She made these projects a year apart – at the beginning of the quarantine in 2020, a year that would change all of our lives – and the Spring of 2021. It lifted her spirits so much to see all the creations you made, inspired by her tutorials.

Hi!
I found Melanie on YouTube years ago and I learned to crochet from her videos. I never ever would have thought that learning crochet would save me from my depression and I have Melanie to thank for that. Her story impacted me. I miss her and her contagious joy for creating and crafting.
I didn’t know her personally but her videos and creations always brought me happiness and always inspired me to keep creating. Her videos felt like a ray of sunshine specially in my difficult days. Her profound love and dedication to her family also always inspired me. I plan to continue watching and trying all of her tutorials that I haven’t tried! I have yet to learn to sew and quilt!
It was lovely to see a post on her blog. It feels like I can keep honoring her memory by continuing to read it. Thank you for keeping it running.
I wish you and your wonderful and strong kids many blessings, peace, comfort, joy and happiness during this Holiday Season and the New Year!

Hello, I miss Melanie's lovely videos so much. I followed her quilting course and thoroughly enjoyed it. I never thought I'd ever be able to make anything with my sewing machine but she made things seem so easy and fun. Now I will try the granny squares. Thank you for posting this. Much love and thoughts for you and your family.
