What I Use and Love

I get a lot of questions about what kind of software I edit on, what kind of sewing machine I have etc… so this is a very detailed list of everything I use in my sewing studio, computer and online tools to run my business.

Sewing Machine

-my main sewing machine is a Juki DX 7 and a Juki TL-2010q.  I also have a Viking Emerald 116 (my original machine).  I have a Singer Ultralock serger as well ( I stole it from my Mom, love you Mom!).

My favorite place to get sewing machines is from my friends at Sew Mini Things, click the image below to check out their selection!

My Favorite Thread
There are lots of good ones, but this is my go to and favorite.  Plus, my machine likes it so that makes me like it ;).

Rotary Cutters
I use and like both Olfa and Fiskars.  These are the exact ones that I have 😉

Cutting Mat
I have a Fiskars 35 x 23 large mat

My favorite traveling cutting mat
Rotating Olfa mat

Crochet Hooks
I’m not very particular, but I do prefer metal to plastic.  The larger ones are usually plastic because of the weight.  Here are a few I have in my collection.

Favorite Yarn
I have a used lots of different kinds.  I like LionBrand, RedHeart, Bernat, Loops and Threads.  It completely depends on the project.

Hello, Melanie! Thank you for graciously sharing your label idea on YouTube! May I ask which fabric from Spoonflower has worked best when designing your labels? Again, thank you!

Good afternoon Melanie, So I am making a 16x16 pillow So my top measurement is 17x17. I want to center a motif in the fabric. The motif measures 5.75"x7.25". Would you cut the fabric top into strips? If so, how wide would you make them?

To those who had read my prior comment please disregard. The chart for Flying Geese is totally correct. My apologies if I confused any one.

Thanks for your quilting videos. They have helped be get started. The list of what you use and love is great. Have you ever used or considered using a cutting machine for your quilting pieces?

Thanks Sharon
