My Laundry Room

My Laundry Room

Thank you so much for sharing!

I get on these deep cleaning kicks and large areas of my home get completely scrubbed and reorganized.  I felt like I focused a lot of time and attention on my blog overhaul the week before, so my home was needing some tlc.  My laundry room was so dysfunctional.  It needed to be scrubbed and re-organized because it wasn’t working and it’s too big to be that problematic. Literally, the before pictures are exactly how it looked…. just keepin in real for ya.  I’ll let you know what I did and what I bought to help me out!

We just got a TJ Max in Hawaii!  Leaping and hopping for joy over here!  I actually bought 2 bar stools and an ottoman, but I actually went in there for some laundry room storage!  That’s where I got those printed fabric bins on the shelf.  One is still empty, and the other one holds the items for donation.

Phew… much better.  The pile of goodwill clothes is put away, the hand wash pile is done and most of all the shoes are nice and neatly put away.  I put our water under the sink instead of in the closet on the other side of the room.

I bought this laundry basket from Ross for $19 and the white bin is our recycling.  I got the “dream” print at TJ Max.  I plan to add more art to this wall.

I brought this bookshelf down from our storage closet upstairs (ahem which meant I had to re-organize that!).  This is much better for placing my cloth diapers, wipes, some cleaning supplies, the cat food etc.  I bought the cat food dispenser at WalMart and the lighter colored baskets from TJ Max.  I already had the other baskets.  Since my changing pad is on the dryer, this is much more tidy and convenient.

Behind this shelf is a closet where the vacuum, swiffer and broom go, and now the catbox!  That means I can’t really close the door, but at least its out of the way ;).  Hope you liked coming into my home for a few minutes and seeing what I’ve been working on all weekend and that this inspires you to make your spaces tidy, it feels so good every time I walk in there!!

We have a laundry/mud room and it needs help! I have 3 cabinets, a shelf and multiple hooks which should be enough, but it is just so disorganized. You know me, so I'm sure this isn't a big surprise but it must be done. So, I'm thinking of some paint to brighten it up and some lighting as it only has a small 60 watt utility fixture and then maybe even redo the shelf and hooks. Of course this litte project would be after several others on the list... but it must be dne!
