Baby Cotton Gauze Swaddling Blankets

Thank you so much for sharing!

I’ve seen these Aden and Anais muslin swaddlers everywhere… they seem to be the new thing in baby swaddling.  I saw them at Target and almost bought them, since the lightweight cotton/muslin will be much better for Hawaii weather than a knit or flannel receiving blanket for swaddling.  The thing is, they were $35 for 4 of them, and that seemed a little steep to me, so I put that purchase on hold till I could go home and do some research.  Fabric.com, one of my favorite places to buy fabric had a cotton gauze fabric that looked very similar to the Aden and Anais swaddlers I saw at the store, and for $4 a yard!  Score!  So I bought a few colors and even found a coupon online which made up for the $$ I had to pay in shipping.  So for about $15 I got 3 100% cotton gauze swaddling blankets, I just had to serge them myself when I got them in the mail.

I love the post! I am trying to find a similar fabric on fabric.com with no such luck. Any suggestions where the fabric might be on their site or the search words you used?

Those are lovely, I have some orgnaic Aden and Anais muslin swaddles, they are so soft and lovely - but were EXTREMEMLY expensive (here in Singapore most imported things are expensive!) If baby mark three ever comes along I'll definitely be making my own!

Thank you for your lovely pictures and ideas-the colours are so pretty for the gauze blankets. I've used your suggestion and ordered the gauze fabric from the fabric store online in bubble gum pink so I can have some light bedding for my 9 year old this summer. She's very excited.I only discovered this type of bedding yesterday so I think we've done well!

The ones from the store seem just a smidge softer, but I think with a few more washings they'll be just as soft. They are 100% cotton, but not sure if they are bubble gauze.
