Hello there!

Today I am excited to share with you this Sunburst Granny Square Tutorial!  This is a fun granny square and great for new crocheters who are still getting the hang of crocheting in the round.

Sunburst Granny Square

Materials:
3 coordinating colors
1 background color
corresponding hook size to yarn you choose (it will say on the package)

yarn needle for weaving in ends
*The amount of yarn you need will depend on how you use the granny square.

Instructions

Start with a magic ring, also called magic circle.  Here is a video on that if you need help.

Rnd 1: ch4 (=1dc,1ch), 1dc + 1ch 11 times into circle. Join with a ss in 3rd ch. Pull on free end to tighten magic circle. 12dc total.

Rnd 2: Start in a ch 1 space. Attach new color as desired. ch 3 (=1dc), 1dc, ch1, *2dc, ch1* in remaining spaces.  Join with ss in 3rd ch. 12 groups of 2dc.

Rnd 3: Start in a ch 1 space. Attach new color as desired. ch 3 (=1dc), 2dc, ch1, *3dc, ch1* in remaining spaces.  Join with ss in 3rd ch. 12 groups of 3dc.

Rnd 4: Start in a ch 1 space. Attach new color as desired. ch 4 (= 1 tr), 1tr, 3ch, 2 tr (first corner) *ch 1, (4dc) in next ch space, 1 ch (4dc) in next space, 1 ch (2tr, ch3, 3tr) (=2nd corner). Join with ss in top chain, trim yarn and fasten off. Weave in ends.

hdc = UK htr
tr = UK dtr

Hi there I am so glad that I have found your site.. I have terminal lung cancer and I just would like to make a many of them as I can before I leave this great world.. I love the infinity scarf. I am hoping that I can get one a day done I figure I have about 6to do..so again thank you for being online. My name is Deborah Guss and I live in Comox on Vancouver island where are you from. I wish I had time to do a lot of your products but I am not sure how much time I have... I have been doing chemo treatment and I have started a second chemo I take it because I want to have more time with family and friends.. and I just had a grandbaby in August and my daughter drove from Edmonton si I could meet her.. anyway I don't need to go on about me.. I just wanted to say a big thanks for giving me something to do thanks again and keep your loved ones close and Tell them how much you love them all the time..
